RENTAL INFO & TERMS · TAIWAN

Know before
you ride.

The important rules in plain English. This page is a pre-rental summary; your rental is governed by the confirmed booking, handover record, valid rental agreement and applicable Taiwan law.

TAIWAN-SPECIFIC

Written for Taiwan.

This is not a translation of Thai rental rules. It is structured around Taiwan's motorcycle-rental contract rules, road-traffic rules, compulsory motor insurance and international driving permit requirements.

01

What should I bring?

Taiwan riders: a valid licence that legally covers a 125cc motorcycle and identification.

International visitors: passport, valid home-country licence and an IDP valid for Taiwan with the correct motorcycle entitlement. Use is subject to reciprocity. Stays over 30 days may require an IDP endorsement from a Taiwan motor vehicles office.

Only an authorised and legally qualified rider may use the scooter.

The scooter is handed over full and should be returned full.

04

Where and how can I ride?

Ride according to Taiwan road rules, signs and markings. No drink/drug driving, racing, dangerous riding, overloading or unlawful use.

125cc ordinary motorcycles may not enter roads where ordinary motorcycles are prohibited. Tell us before taking the scooter on a long trip away from Sun Moon Lake.

Both rider and passenger must wear an approved helmet correctly.

05

What does compulsory insurance cover?

Our rental scooters are kept covered by Taiwan's Compulsory Automobile Liability Insurance, which provides basic protection for bodily injury, disability or death suffered by traffic-accident victims.

It is not comprehensive vehicle insurance and it does not cover damage to the scooter, another vehicle or other property.

06

Fines, parking & towing

Traffic fines, parking charges, towing and storage costs caused by the renter's use during the rental are generally the renter's responsibility. If we pay a rental-period fine on your behalf, the actual amount may be recovered from you.

07

Breakdown, accident or theft

First: make sure everyone is safe, then contact us immediately.

Breakdown: do not dismantle the scooter or authorise unrelated repairs without approval.

Accident: if another person/vehicle is involved, someone is injured, or police reporting is required, contact police and preserve photos and relevant details.

Theft: contact us and report it to police immediately.

Where damage is attributable to the renter, necessary and reasonable towing, repair and legally/contractually recoverable loss are handled according to actual responsibility and actual loss.

08

Return, extension & early return

Return the scooter at the agreed time, location and fuel level. If you need more time, contact us before the original return time and obtain approval.

Early return, late return, a different return location or inability to return on time are handled under the terms disclosed before rental, the rental agreement and Taiwan's mandatory motorcycle-rental rules.
